How I overcome my trying times

How I overcome my trying times

How to stop those negative thoughts.

Every day we all face difficult days or situations in our lives that bring our mood and energy down.

When this happens, it culminates in some or sometimes all of the following feelings: apathy, irritation, anger, frustration, lack of focus, and decreasing concentration.

If you do not deal with this, it can lead to a lack of motivation and no interest in completing everyday tasks. Your work will become less productive, relationships with family and friends will be strained, and your overall well-being will be impacted.

Over time if you do not learn to manage it, you will become overwhelmed, which can lead to burnout. Therefore finding new techniques and resources are paramount to alleviate these feelings.

Our thoughts become our feelings; therefore, acknowledging and accepting ideas but not reacting to those negative ones will prevent them from impacting our behaviour.

Changing how I deal with my thoughts allows me to have more control and use my energy for things that bring me more happiness, time with loved ones, family, and friends, on my golf and my business.

These trying times allow me to use my focus and determination. During trying times, I concentrate on maintaining a calm mind. I do this by implementing simple breathing techniques, self-hypnosis or mindfulness exercises. This approach helps me to conquer all the challenges I face.

I do not allow myself to react negatively to difficult situations that catch me off guard. While it is easy to enable confrontation to anger me, I choose not to allow this.

I spend a lot of time nurturing my mind and spirit through breathing, mindfulness, meditation, and self-hypnosis exercises. I train myself to keep calm when that is the least natural approach. It forces me to develop the focus and will to overcome the most challenging obstacles.

When I encounter resistance, my first step is to silence the negative thoughts in my mind. I acknowledge the thought and accept it is there, but I choose not to react negatively. I ignore the stirrings of impatience and anger that pull at me. I block them out completely.

Giving in to negative or intrusive thoughts only serves to worsen any situation. I focus on overcoming the challenge by counteracting negativity with positive reviews and a calm guide.

My experience in handling trying times encourages me to act from a place of calm reasoning. When my mind is quiet, I think things through rationally. By rejecting unease at the outset, I can make intelligent choices that produce more productive results.

Today, I am resilient; I can overcome any obstacle.

Today, I am confident: I can face anything that comes my way.

Today, I believe in myself: Therefore, I will enjoy my day.

I can see the value in all my life experiences with a clear, calm focus. Even obstacles become worthwhile and meaningful when seen in this way.

Self-Reflection Questions:

What exercises can I undertake to help me develop a consistently calm mind?
How often do I encounter situations that are difficult for me to control?
What assistance can I get from outside sources when dealing with trying times?
